Saharareporters can now report that, as we predicted in our report last night, Celestine Omehia was "stunned" by the Supreme Court earlier today in Abuja as seven justices of the nation's highest court led by the Chief Justice of the Federation ruled that Rotimi Amaechi was the bona fide governorship candidate of the PDP in Rivers State.
The Supreme Court justices have accordingly requested the Chief Judge of Rivers State to swear in Rotimi Amaechi immediately since the PDP won the state elections at the last polls. It is unclear if this ruling would trump election tribunal petitions that are on-going regarding the fatally flawed April 2007 elections in Rivers State.
