Claims that DJ Switch had been arrested in Lagos and was about to be arraigned for allegedly blocking the station's entrance and assaulting the female officer went viral on social media platforms on Thursday.

The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin has retracted his comment confirming the arrest of  Obianuju Catherine Udeh, professionally known as DJ Switch.

Claims that DJ Switch had been arrested in Lagos and was about to be arraigned for allegedly blocking the station's entrance and assaulting the female officer went viral on social media platforms on Thursday.

Hundeyin, in his subsequent tweet, stated that he mistook another DJ, known as Commissioner Wysei for DJ Switch.

He said, “There is a mixup from our end. Arrested person is DJ Commissioner Wysei not DJ Switch. Apologies for all inconveniences to a few media outfits like Lindaikeji, BBC and TVC that I gave confirmation this morning.”

DJ Switch fled Nigeria in the aftermath of #EndSARS protests after insisting that soldiers shot at peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, on October 20, 2020.

She also said that they were sent to the protest venue on orders from above.

DJ Switch said this while speaking with the Sub-committee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the Canadian Parliament.
