Nigerian Aviation Authority, NCAA To Audit All Domestic Airlines
April 25, 2024

SaharaReporters had on Wednesday reported that the Nigerian government directed the management of Dana Airline to suspend its commercial operations over safety concerns.

The Nigerian government has said that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) would carry out a comprehensive audit of all local airlines in the country.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said this during an interview on Channels TV on Thursday.

He said that beyond the suspension of Dana Airlines and the ongoing audit of the airline, all other carriers in the country would be audited to guarantee the safety of passengers and the health of the civil aviation industry.

SaharaReporters had on Wednesday reported that the Nigerian government directed the management of Dana Airline to suspend its commercial operations over safety concerns.

This directive was given by Keyamo in connection with an incident that happened at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos State, on Tuesday.

Recall that SaharaReporters on Tuesday morning reported how a commercial aircraft belonging to Dana Air skidded off the runway at the MMIA.

A photograph of the aircraft obtained by SaharaReporters captured the moment after the aircraft moved out of the runway.

It was also gathered that although there was panic, the passengers were evacuated safely and no casualty was recorded from the incident.

This incident raised a lot of concerns as to the fitness of Dana Air aircraft for domestic commercial operations across the country.
