The supporters of the sickly President should be ashamed of themselves. It is glaring to Nigerians that, Umaru Yar'adua cannot assume office, perhaps anymore. Why then the dilly-dally game from some supposed elites who chose to behave like demented animals? Nigerians should be grateful that these few elements were not able to bamboozle us and make our dear country flounder. I hail all the die-hard Nigerians who fought them to a standstill. - Iredus iredis

It is rather unfortunate that after more than 50 years of independence, Nigeria is still drifting and floating aimlessly. The irony is that everyone is still clutching a Bible or a Koran. And yet "no salvation." We have not seen "Moses" neither "Joshua." Lucifers? - Harrison Obi Ekwonna

Who is afraid of Coup or dividing this contraption called Nigeria? Let it come and let this country be divided, Chike na. Let me predict what will surely happen within the first six months- The North will grind to a halt becouse no fuel will reach them, they will however be able to feed themselves. The south will be at war becouse the Igboman will try to exterminate the so-called Niger deltans so as to appropriate the oil while the yorubas will be whatching the unfolding drama between the Igbos and other tribes in the niger delta so that they can enter into an alliance of sorts to benefit from the spoils of war!
Let it come, lets go ahead and divide this country and look back six months or a year later then we can judge. Goodluck.

That someone threatened Lukman's life is a ruse. He and his brethren are just strategizing because in fact they don't want Jonathan from South South to lord it over them. They don't like minority ethnic tribe in power no matter how temporary because at the back of their mind they should always be in power and anybody else,it must be at their say so. Why? Because Nigeria is regarded as the estate of their grandfather Uthman Danfodio - Soji Fajemirokun

Military juntas no matter how benevolent is dangerous to our health! They compound problems, promote nepotism, inefficiency and are not accounatable to anybody! We have the liberty and fredom now to criticise Yaradua, Turai,Jonanthan, memebers of the national assembly and people in the FEC and governors with thier shenanigans and theivery. Can you do that in a military regime? Pastor EA Adeboye have asked Nigerians to pray against the suspension of the Nigerian constitution. To be for warned is to before armed. - Soji Fajemirokun

There is no power on earth to quench the thirst of the inquisitive mind.
Greed is what puts alot of people into trouble and greedy people scarcely
knew when to stop. The tree of liberty shall be watered with the blood of
the tyrant. We are all entitled to "stardom" even if it implies one-second
duration in a life time, I shall not miss a nap for the fate of a tyrant. - Kotoko

LET THE NORTH BE WARNED. IF THEY LIKE, THEY SHOULD INTRODUCE JONATHANS RELATIVE AS THE LEADER OF ANY COUP IN NIGERIA.
THE BITTER TRUTH IS THAT THE END OF NIGERIA IS AT HAND. AS FOR IBORI, THERE WILL BE NO NOTORE, ASCOTT, DAILY INDEPENDENT ETC, BY THE TIME THE DUST WILL SETTLE. I AM SURE HE WOULD EVEN BE TOO OLD BY THEN. MAKE THEM THEY PLAY WITH LIONS TAIL.
WE WANT TO GO SOUTH WARD FOREVER! - JIMMY IWEALA

God! This marriage isn't working out! Is American prediction about Nigeria coming so sooner than later? Remember, when the gods wants to slay a mad dog they madden it with power. Here is the days of reckoning, I believe. - Country

I don't think there is any thing to panic about, if the millitary decides to take over power, but it will be of good interest for the present serving politicians to protect their job as no Nigerian will easily relinquish power to the next person irrespective of the Tribe, so it is possible the politicians loose their jobs for the main time. - ogbonna

As regards to yesterday news on FEC sending More Delegates to Saudi Arabia, I think the FEC is free to send as many delegates as possible to Saudi Arabia, but on one condition that each delegate will take care of His or Her personal travelling expenses and not the federal government, as the Truth is far fetched from Nigeria, When we have sent so many delegates to Saudi for the same issue and nothing good was achieved, then why keep sending delegates to Saudi? Anyway it is possible the FEC are not really busy with better issues that can move the country forward so they should send more people to Saudi.
As for Taurai she is free to say anything after all it is not easy to be called first Lady but she should remember that constitutionally she can not handle the mantle of leadership in Nigeria so she should stop dictating for Nigerians our country is not her husband's kitchen.

I am against any form of military intervention in Nigeria. I support the general assertion that' The worst civilian regime is better than the most benvolent military dictatorship'. Whilst i quite appreciate that the country is going through turbulent period at the present time, we do not need a soothsayer to tell us that if all the variuos arms of goverment i.e, the judiciary, the executive and the legislature are allign to their respectives constitutional roles, then the country would not have been in this mess.

We need another contitutional conference to address our teething problems. The issue now is not military or civilian but rather that are we following the tenets of the constitution. - Olutoyin Eweje

Why should Nigerians be afraid of coup? Yoruba would say "Oju to ri okun ole beru to 'bari osa" (eyes that have seen the ocean will not fret if confronted with a lagoon). We've had military coups in the past, so what? Patapata they would come and disrupt everything. The greatest losers are the present politicians (whose channel of stealing will be blocked), not the man on the street. So why should the man who is not politician care if there is a coup? Afterall without coup, what is the benefit of the present crop of politicians? Electric Power Supply is irregular, fuel is scarce despite being a producer of oil, we vote and our votes don't count. Why should we, the governed care if this group of corrupt and criminal minded people get killed, jailed or replaced?
The only novelty that would concern those who are not politician is the REVOLUTION OF THE PEOPLE not the selected few of the military. - osegun

Obasanjo, you see what would have been your course, if eventually then, you commences that your third term trip, maybe by now you would 've been a stooge in one of Nigeria renowned museum where people will be paying some tokens to watch a gorilla skeleton, though it wont be a lost 'cause you would had even had to our tourist attractions in this country. - Festus.O

All these trauma will take us to God's planned destination for this nation. Military rule cannot be accepted in Nigeria's political scene today. So let them burry that thought. The people's revolution has already started and if the right thing is not done on or before Feb 24, 2010 as demanded by SNG, the people will rise up against the corrupt impostors and force them to get on the right tract. The love of the country has necessitated the long patience exercised by the people during the absence of Umaru. Now that the die is cast, the people are saying enough of that nonsense. For the so called toilet cabinet, their time of judgment is here and they must be made to account for all their wicked deeds against this nation. God bless Nigeria. - Gam

Bring it on! The day of reckoning is drawing nearer, and that very day shall draw blood from North to South, and West to East. Bring them on! Foisted Nigeria as a country must go through the vagaries of building a civilised nation like Europe or USA had gone through. Without this, we are and will continue to be at a standstill. Firearms to the people! !! !!! - Doomsayer
