The Federal government has declared the former Resident Electoral Commissioner of Ekiti State, Mrs. Ayoke Adebayo, wanted. The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Mbamali Okiro declared in Abuja today that Mrs. Ayoke Adebayo"must make herself available to the Nigerian Police withing 24 hours".
Okiro's declaration comes a few hours after Mrs. Adebayo resigned her commission at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), earlier she wrote in a letter of resignation addressed to Yar'adua that her conscience would not allow her to change the natural course of the elections results in Ekiti state as requested by powerful forces.
Mrs. Adebayo reportedly arrived in Abuja today on the invitation of the State Security Services (SSS) but tendered her resignation before she disappeared. Her whereabouts are unknown as at the time of filing this report.
