The aim of this online community is to contribute our bit towards credible elections in Nigeria. The group will use human observers and electronic devices to monitor elections in Nigeria and to document any instances of rigging and other abuses of the electoral process.
There’s no better place to start than with the governorship election in Anambra scheduled for February 6, 2010. Many Nigerians as well as international groups believe that the Anambra election will provide a mirror into the general elections of 2011. We believe that eye-witness accounts and pictorial evidence will make it more difficult to get away with forged poll numbers.
How do you come in?
- Donate to the Group: Nigeria Election iReporters is asking that you invest in the cause of credible elections and sound democracy by making a cash donation to enable us to equip our election monitors with cell phones, camcorders and other electronic recording devices. Please act quickly. Time is short and we must move fast to establish all the logistics to monitor this election on February 6.
